Sunday games...............

The kids came over today to visit for a bit and Preston wanted to play "Guess Who". Jared didn't come as he was home passing a kidney stone and not feeling well. Ouch! I know that many of you know how that feels. I love my family!

Jeff wanted to watch Gunsmoke instead.

And their off!

Well, today is the first day of school and I had some anxious kids. Katelyn couldn't fall asleep last night and read a book until about midnight. I will miss having them around so much but am so happy to get back into a schedule. Hunter is racing up the stairs to go to the bus stop. (I just realized how bad my walls look. It makes me want to start painting today! Well, not today!)
My favorite son!
Literally, they catch the bus at our corner at 7:05 on the dot! Hunter is chatting with Ammon, Spencer and Jordan. Have a GREAT day boys!
Katey, Katey, pretty lady. Where has the time gone? My baby started Jr. High today. :(
I love you!
I hope that you two have a wonderful day and fill your craniums with a tons of knowledge. I pray you are both leaders to your friends and always remember who you are!

Kylee & Jason's Reception

If you look in the trees, there are mason jars that have candles and marbles hanging in them from the limbs. It looked really neat once it got dark. It looked like firefly's.

You can see the lights now. I got a ton of compliments on it and also the rice krispie squares. When it was completely dark, it looked so pretty but I couldn't get a good picture of it.
Tasty treats!

Paige, Kylee's little sister was up in the tree lighting the candles.
Oh look! There's my cousin, Robert Smith and his daughter Rachel waiting in line.
My feet are killing me and I am ready for bed. Jeff and I will take apart the cage tomorrow. Jill, I love ya and you and your family deserve all the best. You keep saying you don't know how to thank me, well, the best thanks is being such a good and sweet friend to me!

How do you decorate a batting cage?

Jill has a beautiful backyard and that is where Kylee wanted her reception. They have this batting cage and it is cemented in the ground, so this is what we all came up with. This is where Kylee will dance with her father and her husband. There are lights above the yellow fabric over the top so that when it starts to get dusk, we will turn them on and it will look really nice. I will add more pictures from the reception. By the way, THANKS a ton to my wonderful and adorable sweetheart who helped me put this together.

Jeff and I hand stitched the fabric around the edges. That part took us several hours. This is the same fabric that we used for Jen and Scott's wedding. I am so happy that we are doing something else with it. We used the chiffon fabric for the top and the satin for the corners and then tied them up with pink ribbons. There was a little breeze, which was nice because it was so hot, but not for keeping the fabric still.

I can't wait to see it with the lights on and I hope that they like it!

Kylee's Wedding Treats!

I am helping a dear friend of mine, Jill Fuller Muirbrook, with her daughter's wedding. Kylee wanted chocolate dipped rice krispie squares drizzled with her wedding colors of pink and yellow. They are also serving strawberry and banana Creamie Ice Cream Bars and punch. It will look really cute. I am helping her decorate so I will put up pictures of the decorations after Saturday.

I had some wonderful, although a bit reluctant, helpers. Luckily I didn't have to make the rice krispies but there were 540 of them to unwrap. It didn't take to long.
They wanted to go swimming pretty bad, so they helped unwrap 6 boxes of them. I unwrapped the others as I was waiting for more chocolate to melt.
Katelyn & Natalie (or as we call her, GaNoodlely)
With just the milk chocolate
Deneice, your blood sugar would have spiked just from the smell of sweet!
With the pink drizzles & then with the yellow added. YUMMY!

Hunter's Jeep

Our neighbor across the street had this '88 Jeep Cherokee and I asked what he was going to do with it and he said we could have it for $400.00. Hunter had some money saved up and it only has just over 135,000 original miles. Not bad for being 20 years old! And yes, it does run and it came with tank of gas that was 3/4 full! Okay, okay, it is a year and a half old, but .....It was a mess inside and out and there is a little to be done before it can be inspected and registered for driving, but here is what some elbow grease and several hours of cleaning produced. We still need to clean the front seats and the floors in the front with a carpet/upholstery machine, but a MAJOR difference! Don't 'cha think or agree?!

BEFORE
We took out the mats and sprayed them down. They were filthy!
AFTER
BEFORE
This is the drivers side floor! Yuck!

AFTER
The carpet still needs to be cleaned, but this is with just vacuuming and a little soap and water. (Sorry, the sun was starting to shine on us)

So much cleaner, you can see Hunter in it!

BEFORE
See how filthy the gages are. "Oh, I'm sorry officer. I didn't know I was speeding. I can't see the gages through the dirt!"
AFTER
No excuses now!
BEFORE
Look how dirty it is by the shifter, emergency brake, etc.
AFTER
Just look at the difference around the shifter. I took a toothbrush and Q-tips to it.

Oh, and by the way. We had several of these beauties on the outside of the car. It had been parked for so long that hornets took up residency in condos! ;)

We sucked up many of these dead little, stinging critters!
BEFORE

Look at how hazy the windows are.

AFTER

Just needs some "wax on" & "wax off"! ;)

BEFORE

Looking out the dirty windows!

AFTER

It really is a sound vehicle, just really dirty! Hunter will ride the bus to and from to school but this will be used more for work and for dates! UUGGGHH! Did I say dates? He hasn't been anxious at all to even get his permit as he could have gotten it as soon as he turned 15, but he has been studying everyday since he got home from scout camp and since we gave him the okay on this!

What if?

Megan finds or has friends that send her the funniest websites and this was one of them. You can take a picture of yourself and put your face in different eras. So here are some of Jeff and I and and of the kids and of course, we are still BABES! Click HERE to try for yourself!

Jeff --

Ride the wave baby! Love that curly thick hair! You are more handsome now then when we were married! (I think we used the same curlers for your picture and mine!)

Lisa--
The saddest thing about this is that I actually had an aunt that had hair and glasses like this. Truly, I laughed until my sides hurt and then I realized that I DO look like her. She was great, but I don't want to look like her!
Jen--
How many of you remember Jane Hathaway of the Beverly Hillbillies? I would believe that could be her twin sister!
Scott--
Okay, this looks a bit to real. Scott says he wants to grow his hair out like this. Hubba hubba!
Hunter--He was laughing at everyone's pictures until he got to his and he thinks it lame. Oh well. We all know just how cute you really are!
Katey--
Love that Up-do! I think she would look cute with any hair-do!
To see the rest of my fun family look at Jared and Megans blog.
